Audio Fastlane

Audio Fastlane has been rebuilt from the ground up as our own app. It is faster, lighter, and everything about it is now in our hands, which is what makes the features below possible. New in this version: - Visual recaps: animated, step-by-step diagram cards for each chapter on most titles. - Exam-style questions for every chapter, a mixed exam, and practice on your weak spots. - Aviation: a new side for the FAA private pilot certificate. Choose maritime or aviation when you first open the app. - Routes and tickets: Home shows a button for each route, and the library opens on the titles for the ticket you are working towards. - Read along as you listen. Pull up from the player for the chapter's text with the spoken word highlighted. Tap a word to jump to it, press and hold a term for its meaning. - A Progress page: daily goal, streak, titles finished and hours towards your ticket. - Optional reminders, off until you say yes. - A button to report a bug from the app. - Downloads, the sleep timer, car mode and 15-second skips all carry over, rebuilt. If you already subscribe: open the app and tap Restore, or sign in. Your access carries over. Listening positions, bookmarks and downloads do not carry over and start again on this version. Casting to a Chromecast is not in this version.

Audio Fastlane turns the reading for your next ticket or certificate into audiobooks, so the studying happens while your hands are busy: on watch, washing down, in the gym, in the car, or on the way to the airfield. There are two sides to the library. Maritime covers yacht, merchant navy, and fishing and workboat tickets. Aviation covers the FAA private pilot certificate. Choose your side when you first open the app and the library follows. Every title is written from the syllabus, the textbooks and the course notes. Where a title has been checked against published accident reports, its page says which reports and when it was last reviewed, so you can see what you are trusting. LISTEN, READ, SEE, TEST - Listen. Plays in the background with lock-screen controls. Skip fifteen seconds either way, change speed from 0.5x to 2x, and pick up exactly where you left off, to the second. - Read along. Pull up from the player and the chapter's text rides up over it, with the word being spoken highlighted. Tap any word to jump the audio there. Press and hold a term to see what it means. Turn the text up large, or let it scroll itself. - Visual recaps. On most titles, each chapter has a strip of short animated diagram cards, one idea per card, for the rules that are easier seen than heard. - Exam-style questions. Questions on each chapter, a random set from any book, a mixed exam across your route, and practice on the questions you keep getting wrong. BUILT FOR THE WAY YOU STUDY - Routes and tickets. Home shows one button for each route, in ladder order from entry level to the top ticket. Tell the app what you are working towards and your own route comes first. - Progress. A daily listening goal, a streak, the titles you have finished, and a running total of the hours you have put towards your ticket or certificate. - Downloads on tap, a chapter or a whole book, for listening with no signal. Nothing downloads on its own. - Sleep timer: 15, 30, 45 or 60 minutes, or the end of the chapter. - Car mode: one tap from the player for large controls you can use at a glance. - Bookmarks, and a share link for any chapter. - Reminders, if you want them. Notifications are off until you say yes, and you can switch them off in Settings. - Report a bug from inside the app. FIVE TITLES FREE, FOR GOOD No subscription and no account: COLREGs Explained, COLREGs Word for Word, Yachtmaster Offshore, The Casualties That Wrote the Rules of the Sea, and Private Pilot: The Accidents That Wrote the Rules of the Sky. ALL ACCESS All Access unlocks every title in the library, new ones included, with their read-along, recaps and questions. It comes in 1-month, 3-month and 12-month plans. Customers who are eligible for the introductory offer start with a 3-day free trial; the app tells you before you buy whether you are eligible. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency. YOUR ACCOUNT The free titles need no account. An account keeps your place in step across your devices, and you can delete it yourself in Settings at any time. COMING FROM THE OLD APP Your subscription comes with you: open the app and tap Restore, or sign in. Listening positions, bookmarks and downloads start again on this version. SUBSCRIPTION INFORMATION All Access is an auto-renewing subscription, sold in 1-month, 3-month and 12-month lengths. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. It renews at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of that period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings after purchase. Where a free trial is offered, any unused part of it is forfeited if you buy a subscription before it ends.
