DET - Duolingo English Test

Very frustrating and inconsistent experience. I took the Duolingo English Test and carefully followed the setup instructions. During the setup process, the system checked my phone/secondary camera placement and explicitly indicated that the setup was acceptable, so I proceeded with the test. I felt that I performed very well on this attempt. However, after completing the entire test, I was told that my test could not be certified because of a verification issue. What I find particularly frustrating is that the system allowed me to proceed after checking my setup. If the camera placement was unacceptable, the system should have identified that before I spent the time completing the entire test. As a test taker, I followed the instructions presented to me and relied on the system’s confirmation. Having the test rejected afterward makes the setup-checking process feel unreliable and creates unnecessary stress and wasted time. Duolingo should improve its pre-test verification system so that candidates are clearly informed of setup problems before the test begins.

I had test several times with the provider. Not certified the test. Reasons 1- behavioural issue. They did not like me speaking, repeating the sentence loud while I was testing. 2- The tester unable to maintain my success (I’m not sure what’s their background) 3- The app broken and connections got lost in several occasions (my time wasted for two weeks) 4- they used my ILETS score to provide me same score complex vs non (the provider unsure if they can asses the students therefore they ask your previous score due to lack of knowledge. 5- Dump testers with lower IQ compared to other services providers 6- Has no physical offices in the test location which makes it hard to sue the provider 7- better not to deal with the provider 8- the provider keen to perform complexity and non integrity in providing services 9- test took me with all inconsistent data a month while should take 1 hour to complete and join the university therefore my 2 semester are gone and caused me frustration. 10- run away when you see Duolingo or associated app or anyone works worked in Duolingo 11- they are afraid of providing testers names and professional background, although office locations which makes it suspicious 12- again run away once you see the provider 13- never trust such services where do not carry physical locations in designated countries where they are serving. 13- Even though after you see a University providing unregistered services within the country make sure you run away from both. 14- Hope you rest in peace
