LinkedIn feels like a bot-filled wasteland of corporate egos, fake enthusiasm and people endlessly congratulating themselves. And they want you to pay for Premium? For what, exactly? The privilege of talking to more bots and reading more self-important nonsense? It’s supposed to help people find work, not be a subscription-based circle jerk.
More ads and posts from people that are 3rd away from me than actual updates from my network. Total garbage.

The fact that you cannot swap or update media (photos, videos, or documents) once a post is live is incredibly frustrating for a professional platform. Your only option is to delete the entire post, completely destroying all accumulated likes, comments, and engagement. For a professional platform, forcing users to choose between keeping their reach or fixing a visual mistake is completely unacceptable. It’s about time image replacement is available as it’s a basic media feature.
Here’s the scenario: you are looking for a new job, let’s say you’ve been laid off and every dollar matters. You save money where you can, including by keeping your current phone going rather than paying Apple hundreds for a new phone. But fining a job matters. So you decide to shell out $40 every month for a premium service, LinkedIn. The notifications are useful. They pop up on your phone and help you keep up with the industry and build a network. Then one day a new type of notification: “Get out latest app… to get the most out of LinkedIn.” You click Update. It takes you to the App Store where you learn that this new update doesn’t work on your iOS version. “Ok I’ll skip the update” you think. Returning to the app, you discover to much frustration that it’s impossible to skip the update or dismiss the notification message! Hence, every other time you get a notification about something you’d love to engage with, clicking that opens the content in the app but engaging with it is impossible, because always the prompt to update hovers over the middle of your screen. It doesn’t even let you read the entire post. I would expect way more (that is: “basic functionality”) from an app from a service that is 1) the most expensive service I pay for and 2) build by Microsoft, a company that surely knows how to make software. 1 star, because zero wasn’t an option.
I once had a LinkedIn account but when I visited Asia my email got hacked via the 4 star hotel I booked. Lost access to LinkedIn account because of that. Created a new LinkedIn acct with new email. Worked for the Government and they gave me another LinkedIn account for LinkedIn training. I tried to transfer training cert across my personal LinkedIn acct but couldn’t. I contacted LinkedIn for it but instead of helping, they cancelled my two accounts. Now without an account. No publicly available way to contact LinkedIn. This company is unfair.
