Cool
The default female model used to be free alongside the default male model. I usually draw female characters so I was pleased with using the female model. However, now many of my previously free scenes are now locked behind a subscription because the female model now requires a subscription. I used to subscribe whenever I had extra disposable money (though I had stopped a while ago), and now I won’t even bother with this app at all. Pretty scummy to paywall the default female model that was previously free 😒
I’ve had this app for a few years. Admittedly, I’ve fallen into an art slump over the last year so I haven’t used it much. Yet, I still had a monthly subscription just in case. Well now it’s unusable. It gets stuck on a screen telling me I have to log back in to access anything but won’t advance to the page to do so. Nothing online is telling me how to fix this, and rest assured I’ve updated and cleaned up all that I can. Just a severe disappointment. Subscription cancelled until this is fixed. Also, doubt it’s an issue with my iPad since it loaded the recent iOS update fine, yet the app didn’t work on the couple-of-updates-behind iOS I was using before updating either.
there is no in-app tutorial for people who maybe have never worked with 3D models before and while playing around with it is fun, actually knowing what each slider does would be helpful worse yet is the disparity between free and paid version. i understand the free version being extremely limited but there is no reason why the basic female model should be paid and the basic male model is the only model you can use in the free version. that implies male bodies as the default and forces everyone who wants to draw a woman to use the paid version. which is misogynistic even though i’m sure that wasn’t the intention. having two basic models should not be that difficult. however given how little you can do with the base mode/free version in the first place that point might be moot. there is so little to do with the free version that it may as well not have a free version at all. but why act like a female body model should not also be a base model for free?
I downloaded this app as a last resort after failing to find something comfortable to practice anatomy with for my original art. I had bought posable figures and tried pretty much all else, but they were all really uncomfortable. When I found this app it took me a bit to get the hang of working it- But once I figured it out it was amazing. Coming from someone who knew how to draw and simply wanted to improve a really weak skill, this app has done wonders for me. I ended up purchasing the Pro upgrade, because $10 for a lifetime of upgraded control usage was not bad at all. If the Master option wasn't a membership I'd probably get it too. My only suggestion for the developer: It would be really nice if you made it to where you could anchor or attach individual objects to each other. I sometimes work on characters from which I need to create my own reference objects due to the uniqueness of said object they use, and it is really annoying having to create & position every individual shape one by one.
